Default Rare bolt of silk

Ok, I've been collecting bolts of silk for a long time now (when I first started I thought it was a monk thing... just turned into something I collect). Anyways, I have this one bolt of silk that's different from the rest. For some reason it's worth twice as much as a normal bolt of silk to a merchant. Has this happened to anyone else?

It's not that special. When Guild Wars Retail was first released, almost all Rare Crafting Materials were worth 30g. This lasted for about a month, then a streamed update changed the prices around and added the rare materials trader to all the big cities. The Bolt of Silk that you have there is merely one of the Bolts of Silk that was salvaged from an item before that update so long ago. I suppose it's a collectors item because you can't salvage silk that is worth that much to the merchant anymore, and someday you might find a player who is interested in having a really really old item that can't be obtained anywhere else.
